John Travolta Finally Reacts to Scathing Scientology Movie -- And Speaks for 'Tom' Too

John Travolta is pretty forgiving for a guy being blackmailed. Ha! That's a joke, Scientology, please do not follow me, suppress me, nor sue me, 'kay?

Um, but seriously, folks, after the documentary Going Clear exposed Scientology as one heck of a vindictive organization, one that supposedly/allegedly/possibly uses members' own confessions against them -- and one of those members supposedly being "blackmailed" is John Travolta -- you'd think maybe he'd have something a little less on message to say about the religon, but au contraire, John says Scientology is "beautiful."

John told The Tampa Bay Times that he has not seen the movie, nor would he care to. He also makes it clear that everything in the movie (which he must have read about if he refuses to watch it) is a lotta bunk as far as he's concerned:

I haven't experienced anything that the hearsay has (claimed), so why would I communicate something that wasn't true for me? It wouldn't make sense, nor would it for Tom, I imagine.

Erm, who? Oh, right, right. He must be talking about Tom Cruise -- another influential member whom Going Clear says that Scientology keeps under its thumb by holding on to audio confessions ("audits") and threatening to expose them if the member doesn't ... well, doesn't do whatever, I guess.

John says that he "wouldn't have made it" after his son Jett's death without his religion, and adds:

I've been brought through storms that were insurmountable, and [Scientology has] been so beautiful for me, that I can't even imagine attacking it.

John has clearly had a much different experience with Scientology than many former members have, including Leah Remini, who tweeted her support for the people in the documentary.

Orrrr maybe he just doesn't want to upset those within the organization ... for whatever reason (cough).

I'm not going to belittle anyone's religion if it truly helps them gain peace and solace, but Scientology has had so many vocal critics over the years, it's obvious that the religion doesn't work for everyone.

Do you think John is genuinely happy with Scientology?
