'Time' Magazine Names Kim Kardashian One of the 30 Most Influential People on the Internet

What do President Obama, J.K. Rowling, and Kim Kardashian have in common? On the surface, not a whole lot, but today, all three have scored a spot on Time magazine's top 30 list of most influential people on the Internet. Before you roll your eyes and laugh, the 34-year-old has 27 million Instagram followers—that's more than six times the number of people living in New Zealand! Here are five times when her online influence could not be denied.

Whether the reality star is taking off all of her clothes or changing the color of her hair, people really want to understand her motivations and, more importantly, check out her photos. Since she married Kanye and gave birth to North West, the desire to know more about her has only increased.

And Kim isn't unaware of the impact social media has had on her career. She admitted in an interview with Adweek that she came around at the right time—just when reality TV was really exploding—and opened herself up on the Internet in a way that made it seem as if she was sharing part of her life, and not branding herself as a celebrity.

Well, I don't know about all of that. I'm pretty sure her celebrity is the driving force behind the fact that her mobile app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, earned $74 million last year and has been named Adweek's Hottest Mobile Game.

At this point, we could name 50 times one of Kim's photos or news about her life created a buzz. For the sake of time, we've narrowed it down to five:

1. Kim breaks the Internet with the magazine cover we couldn't stop talking about and analyzing (seriously, why so much oil?):

2. Kim and Kanye tie the knot and make it official with two very '80s leather jackets:

3. Kim is probably the reason why so many other celebs started posting "I woke up this way" selfie. Anytime she appears without makeup, you can be sure her photo will become more popular than the most important news story of the day:

4. For better or worse, Kim's influence can even be felt in the White House:

5. No list of Kim moments would be complete without Kim, Kanye, and little North's Vogue family portrait:
