LeAnn Rimes's Ex-Husband's Confession May Change Your Mind About Her

LeAnn RimesSince LeAnn Rimes divorced her first husband Dean Sheremet in favor of Eddie Cibrian, we've heard a lot from LeAnn, from Eddie, and especially from Eddie's first wife, Brandi Glanville. The one we haven't heard much from is Dean -- but he must have had a lot on his mind, because he decided to unload. And, hey, what he says might make you change your mind about LeAnn -- maybe.

LeAnn and Dean had been married since she was 18 and he was 20 when LeAnn infamously met the handsome, dimpled Eddie on the set of a Lifetime movie. Dean has moved on and is now married to photographer Sarah Silver, but he clearly still has very strong opinions about what happened. They may surprise you though.

For one, Dean doesn't put the weight of the break-up on LeAnn and her cheating -- in fact, it sounds like the marriage was in deep doo-doo before LeAnn strayed. He admits that as someone who was the prime guiding force behind his wife's career, he often didn't know when to stop being manager and start being husband. He says:

There were a lot of animosities that built up. I felt like I was never having my needs met so there was fighting ... I was husband, father, friend, lover, manager. I was probably getting on her nerves all the time.

He also confesses to Nat's Next Adventure that the marriage was already headed towards disaster, and admits:

Who's to say I wouldn't have left her? Who's to say I wouldn't have cheated on her? I was on the verge of outgrowing that situation. If the animosities kept building…You get into a vulnerable situation and you make stupid mistakes. I can't say it wouldn't have been me.

Wow, it takes a big man to admit that! Dean could keep playing victim (like Brandi) but he chooses to take responsibility for his role in a marriage that was breaking down long before Eddie entered the picture.

That isn't to excuse LeAnn and Eddie -- but, c'mon, they are human. At the end of the day, people desperately want to feel loved and desired, and if you're not getting that in your marriage, and you have a weak moment, anything can happen.

As for Eddie, however, Dean says he "wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw this f--king table."

Hm, I suspect he couldn't throw the table very far.

I've interviewed LeAnn and Eddie, and asked them if they were worried that either one would cheat, given how their relationship started. Eddie did not seem worried at all. LeAnn did not answer, but didn't seem to disagree. But let's face it, anyone can cheat, whether or not they have in the past. When I interviewed them, they did seem dedicated to each other.

Kudos for Dean for not slamming LeAnn in this interview and for being accountable for his own issues.

Now everyone's happy, so maybe we can all move on from this!
