Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Boyfriend May Hold Key to What Happened

Bobbi Kristina BrownWhitney Brown's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, is still fighting for her life in an Atlanta hospital and we still don't know how she got in that horrible condition. But behind the scenes, police are trying to find out. One of their investigative methods hit a temporary road block when Bobbi's live-in boyfriend, Nick Gordon, got a restraining order to prevent police from getting video footage from their at-home security camera.

Now, of course, when you hear that, the first thought is, Why would he do that? Wouldn't he want to do everything in his power to figure out what happened?!

I think if most of us had a loved one in this condition, we'd be handing over the security camera footage, begging police to go over it with a fine-tooth comb.

But Nick's lawyer says the warrant was too broad, and police could basically search for anything, whether or not it related to Bobbi's condition. His lawyer reportedly wrote in the initial filiing:

The Search Warrant violates the Fourth Amendment in that it is overly broad and seeks private data 'without limitation,' and fails to narrowly limit the scope of the data sought by date or other characteristics.

Hmm, well, how many of you would want the police looking through all of your private information "without limitation"? Not sure I would even though I'm virtually certain I have nothing to hide about anything -- but it's still a nerve-wracking prospect.

However, Nick must have known how this would sound, trying to stop police from looking at video cam footage. So he reportedly reversed his decision and has dismissed his claim. His lawyer now says he wants to do everything in his power to assist the investigation. Now he doesn't sound like a man with something to hide. Let's hope that's true.

Would you allow a broad search of your personal video data?
