Ryan Gosling Skipped the Oscars Because He Was Acting Like a Child (PHOTO)

Who would go to the Oscars when they could go to the happiest place on Earth instead? Ryan Gosling was spotted at Disneyland on Sunday, February 22, when a good portion of his colleagues were getting soaked on the red carpet for the 87th Annual Academy Awards.

The Notebook star opted to skip the award show of the season to hang out at Disneyland with his buddy, director Guillermo Del Toro. They reportedly stayed all day, riding numerous rides, and happily interacting with fans.

Gosling, 33, has a long history with the Disney franchise, having gotten his start in the business as a member of The Mickey Mouse Club, alongside fellow talents Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake.

The celebs dined at Disneyland's exclusive members-only Club 33 (the waiting list to become a member there is more than a decade long), and according to sources, also "indulged in churros and soft pretzels."

An insider revealed, "Ryan enjoyed the rides, going on Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Disneyland Train, Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones, Radiator Springs and Tower of Terror." All of my favorite rides! I knew we were meant to be together! Except for that whole having a baby with his girlfriend Eva Mendes thing.

Speaking of Mendes and their 5-month-old daughter, Esmeralda, Gosling apparently also made sure to bring home some souvenirs for his ladies. The source dished, "Ryan bought his new baby some Disney characters and a coffee mug for Eva," and added that it was the "cutest part" of the day.

Of course, the trip to Disney wasn't exactly a snub to the Oscars -- the last time Gosling went was in 2007, when he was nominated for Half Nelson. That was also del Toro's most recent appearance at the event, when his screenplay for Pan's Labyrinth was up for an award.

Do you think Ryan Gosling had more fun at Disneyland than he would've had at the Oscars?
