Kelly Clarkson Shares the Sad Truth About the Lack of Guests on Her New Album

Sometimes it's nice to know that famous people occasionally feel left out too. Not that we want anyone to feel excluded, but it happens to all of us now and again -- even celebrities. Take for example, Kelly Clarkson, who recently admitted that she has a very difficult time getting people to do duets with her.

The OG American Idol alum told host Nick Grimshaw of BBC Radio 1 that she has a heck of a time getting fellow artists to agree to record with her. She is debuting her seventh studio album Piece by Piece next month, and it turns out that she was denied when she asked some unnamed artists to record with her.

"I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no," the 32-year-old new mom said. "I'm not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people that I'm not going to call out, and that's cool, but I don't know."

"I ask good people, I don't want to sing with crap people, so I mean, I ask people who are great vocalists, but I'm not going to point out anyone," she continued. "I have asked several people ... Sometimes I feel like I have the plague, or leprosy, they're like, 'If you get too close...' I don't know."

Dude -- in the 13 years since Idol, girlfriend has had two No. 1 albums, three No. 1 singles, and eight top-10 hits. Oh yeah, and three Grammy Awards and four American Music Awards. It's not like she isn't talented enough to work with ... besides, she has such a bubbly fun personality! I bet it would be a blast.

At least one artist has worked with the "Heartbeat Song" singer. Clarkson mentioned her upcoming single with John Legend, and positively gushed about him. "I got John Legend to say yes, and he's cool," she confessed. "I can get country artists to sing with me and John Legend! I'm gonna keep John Legend. He's super credible and talented. I feel very good about myself with that one."

We can't wait to hear it -- and hopefully even more collaborations in the future. Clarkson added in her interview, "I feel like I'm a very nice person that you might want to sing with me."

Why do you think singers have said no to working with Kelly Clarkson?
