Bobbi Kristina's Family Accused of Trying to Cash In on Her Condition

When someone like Bobbi Kristina falls, the people around her who should have her best interest at heart aren't always going to resist profiting from tragedy. While Whitney Houston's 21-year-old daughter remains in a medically induced coma for the third week since she was discovered lying face down and unresponsive in her bathtub, sources say some of her relatives are demanding money and other goodies in exchange for information.

Things have reportedly gotten so out of control in the Brown family, what with certain relatives leaking "false" information, that father Bobby Brown and others had to actually release a statement this past week reminding us not to believe everything we hear. They took aim at one relative in particular: cousin Jerod Brown, who they claim has no knowledge of Bobbi's condition, but continues to make appearances on TV news programs and providing statements.

Although no one named names this time around, US Weekly reportedly spoke with a family insider who said certain family members are demanding thousands of dollars from the media, plus car services and hotel stays, in exchange for interviews. And, if the Brown family is to be believed, these interviews may not even yield true information about Bobbi.

How repulsive is that? I certainly hope that no well-regarded news outlet gives any of these folks one dime for unsubstantiated gossip.

More for The Stir: Don't Believe Everything You Hear About Bobbi Kristina: Some Family Members Are Lying

I'm sorry to say that money talk is reportedly also happening right in Bobbi's intensive care unit and among the family members who are looking after her.

Bobby is reportedly concerned about what is going to happen to the $20 million inheritance Whitney left her daughter if she doesn't pull through. All we know (and take it all with a grain) is that Bobby reportedly wants to figure out where that money is going and that some of the Houstons may disagree with his method or wishes.

I don't think it's crazy for her father to want to sort out the legal issues pertaining to her inheritance or to protect it from getting into the hands of people who may not deserve it. From what it sounds like, he and Bobbi's other relatives can't exactly trust everyone around them.

What do you think about all of this money talk while Bobbi is still in a coma?
