Kanye West Blames Kim Kardashian for Scaring All His Friends Away

Kanye West rarely gives us an opportunity to feel sorry for him, what with his ranting and raving about the wrong people receiving awards and all, but the rapper-turned-fashion-darling suddenly appears to be looking for a little sympathy.

Get this one -- in a new interview with Style.com, Kanye says his fashion friends abandoned him when he hooked up with Kim Kardashian, not wanting to be associated with a reality star. He explains:

Soon as we started dating, fashion people were really opposed to the idea of reality stars. And all the relationships, the somewhat friends that I had somewhat built up, completely turned their backs on her and me. They already had their back to her, and now they turned it to me.

Wow, way to make a girl feel good about herself, Kanye. I'm sure Kim loves hearing about how her low-brow career cost you friendships ... and on Valentine's weekend no less. Slow. Golf. Clap.

But wait, just wait -- almost like an epic '80s teen movie where the guy gets his dream girl but has to give up so much else to keep her, Kanye reveals how he and Kim rebuilt his fashion career in Kris Jenner's house of all places.

The so-called traction that I was getting in the high-fashion world was completely thrown out the window and I was finally allowed to go to school. Every day I was in my mom (Kris Jenner's) house, in my little brother’s old room, Rob's old room, re-tailoring a Céline skirt, re-tailoring a Saint Laurent jacket, re-tailoring a Zara top, re-tailoring Wolford ... And day by day by day, (Kim and I) learned, we got better. We looked at the photographs together and she improved my style, we improved each other.

I am so struggling to picture Kim and Kanye sitting on Rob's old twin bed surrounded by fabric swatches and fashion forms figuring out how to sew, but please cue the Pretty in Pink soundtrack anyway.

Even when Kanye tries to appear down and out, I still can't quite feel compassion for this guy. He's just so full of himself. Did it ever occur to him that maybe his fashion friends simply got tired of his over-inflated ego? My guess is no.

Do you think Kanye really lost friends because of Kim?
