'Fifty Shades of Grey' Reviewed by Celebrities

After just one weekend, Fifty Shades of Grey has proven to be an enormous success at the box office by earning a record-breaking $81.7 million. And we're not the only ones rushing to the theater to see for ourselves whether it's as steamy as the book. A slew of celebrities are weighing in with their thoughts on Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and how they rated them, both on the big screen and in E.L. James' best-selling novel. Here's what they had to say.

"Girls night watching a private screening of Fifty Shades of Grey!!!!!! OMG it's sooooo good!!!!!" – Kim Kardashian

"@KimKardashian and no invite !?!" – Kendall Jenner

"I kept waiting for something exciting and crazy to happen in that red room thing, and I was like, 'Hmm, a lot of spanking.' I also thought, 'This is so unrealistic because no guy goes down on a girl that much.' I'm sorry, but no one eats p---y as much as the guy in that book." – Madonna

Victoria Beckham had this to say after giving a copy of the book to her mom: "Every time she tries to engage in conversation about it, I kind of dodge the subject. I don't really want to talk to my mother about S&M!"

"I'm obsessed. I'm past the bathtub scene, so I'm making progress. It's fascinating to see something like that capture the zeitgeist and also it's really interesting to read ... And I'm using it as a manual. I think it can be a study book for a lot of people." – Ryan Seacrest

Ian Somerhalder totally wanted the part of Christian Grey: "I would absolutely be up for that. I have the book and I just started reading it. That would be an incredible thing, and hopefully that could pan out. Yes, beyond the shadow of a doubt, I think that would be a phenomenal opportunity!"

"I started to read it and I was like, 'Oh, this is spicy.' I thought it was good, it was intriguing." – Selena Gomez

"I was born to play that part" – Alexander Skarsgard on Christian Grey. We know, Alexander.

Real-people reactions to the controversial film have been all over the map and have ranged from superb to dismal. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I won't weigh in with a personal comment, but I always wonder whether celebs are being honest when they assess films, or if that would be a little risky, like slamming a potential future employer or colleague.

It will be interesting to see what more celebs think as the days go on because you just know, whether or not they admit it, a great many are going to be too curious to resist watching Fifty Shades.

What did you think of the film?
