Arrest Warrant for Bobbi Kristina Brown Dropped as She Remains in a Coma

Bobbi Kristina BrownWhile Bobbi Kristina Brown clings to life in a medically induced coma in the hospital, a warrant for her arrest has been dismissed. In light of her dire condition after being found unresponsive and face down in the bathtub last weekend, police decided that it didn't make any sense to keep the warrant active.

Executive Public Information Officer George Gordon said that the department's main concern is for Bobbi Kristina's family, as they hold vigil by her bedside and come to terms with the fact that doctors don't expect her to recover.

In a statement issued by Gordon, he said,

I confirm the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety had an active arrest warrant for [Ms.] Bobbi Kristina Brown. The warrant was issued because [Ms. Brown] failed to show up for a mandatory court appearance after being cited for operating a motor vehicle with expired tag registration.

In light of recent events involving [Ms.] Brown, we are not focused on the warrant issue. In fact, we asked the court to dismiss the warrant and recall it -- which they did. The important issue is we hope the grieving family and friends find comfort during this difficult period.

I think what they're doing for her family is great. The last thing they should have to worry about is an active arrest warrant and the legal nightmare it could create for them. And for such a small incident! Obviously, Bobbi Kristina had bigger problems than an expired car registration.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Brown and Houston families as they hope for a miraculous recovery. We're holding out hope too.

Do you think the police did the right thing dropping the arrest warrant?
