Matt damonDie-hard football fans will do just about anything to defend their quarterbacks, and celebrities are no exception. Ahead of the Super Bowl this Sunday, New England Patriots-lovin' A-listers took to Jimmy Kimmel Live to let everyone really know what happened with those controversial deflated footballs. It had nothing to do with Tom Brady.

Boasting their best Boston accents, Patriots super fans Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris Evans, John Krasinski, and Steven Tyler, among others, offered up hilarious and nonsensical reasons why they are, in fact, to blame for the deflated footballs, not their beloved Brady.

In the words of Krasinski:

Tom Brady had nothing to do with this because he was too busy ... being awesome.

Personally, I love this sketch so hard. There's something really funny and really endearing about celebs getting as defensive about their football team as, let's say, my husband. Now we'll just have to wait and see if they have anything to say following Sunday's big game.
