Kanye West Makes Bizarre Confession About Kim Kardashian's Past

Kim Kardashian, Kanye WestWe were overdue, really. It seems like it's been a while since Kanye West opened his mouth and said something that made us do a double take. But at the 2015 BET Honors taping on Saturday, where the "Only One" singer received a Visionary Award, he defended his marriage with Kim Kardashian in the most bizarre way possible.

Especially now that Kim K. has one of his kids and has him for 18 years, apparently the uber-wealthy mogul has been accused of being a "gold digger" by being with Kanye.

First off, I'm pretty sure that Kim is more of a fame whore than a gold digger. Second, the Kardashians aren't exactly slumming it. A quick Google search reveals that Kim's net worth is around $65 million (hers individually, not the family's), and Kanye's is hovering around $100 million. This is pretty fantastic, especially when you consider that Kim goes to the gym, plays with her baby, and has lunch with friends for a living.

Anyway, rather than point out that his wife is successful and wealthy all on her own, Kanye offered up the bizarre defense that she "has dated broke black dudes" in the past.

As he accepted the BET Award, he told a story about racial equality and how his wife likes all the black dudes, rich or poor. Or something. It was weird. He said:

At the barbershop ... I used to hear people always talking about, 'Man you know when an entertainer get on, of course you know he gon' go and get a white girl and blah blah blah and a white girl gon' get a rich black dude.' But I wanna say that my wife has dated broke black dudes ... it got nothing to do with the money.

Thanks for clearing that up, Kanye! He continued and told the story about how the late Robert Kardashian, Kim's dad, predicted that she might have a black baby someday, and how difficult it could be.

"He said to her, 'One day, you may have a black child ... a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful black child ... and it's gonna be hard. You're gonna see how hard it is,'" North West's dad revealed. Yes, because we're sure Nori's life is very, very difficult.

Kanye also stated, "So true enough, we deal with racism because there are different races. Or the micro of it is that we focus on the different races as opposed to the macro, which is the human race."

We have no doubt that racism still exists even in America, but for Kanye to defend his relationship with Kim by saying she's dated "broke black guys" before him doesn't really make any point other than Kim prefers black guys. And is that really something you want to point out when making a case against racism?

What do you think of Kanye's weird defense of Kim Kardashian and her black ex-boyfriends?
