Jennifer Lopez Blames Ben Affleck for One of Her Life's Biggest Failures

Jennifer LopezIt's been more than a decade since audiences were tortured with the box office dud Gigli, and we're still scratching our heads as to why Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck decided to star in it. It's gained a notorious reputation as one of the worst films of all time, yet in a recent interview, JLo tried to shift the blame for the awfulness onto her relationship with Ben at the time.

During an interview with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, January 21, Jenny From the Block was discussing her best and worst movie roles. The host asked her, "Do you have favorites? And ones you look back on and ask, 'Oh, why did I do that?'"

The 45-year-old bombshell responded, "Of course. I mean, I've done a lot of movies at this point. There are some that I'm like, 'Wow, it was amazing to be a part of that ... and [there are] some that you mention the name, and I'm like, 'Huh? What? Which movie? I'm sorry, I don't remember that.' That just tells you, you've been in it for a long time."

Lopez made a name for herself in Hollywood as the late singer Selena Quintanilla in the 1997 biopic Selena. She's also starred in a slew of popular rom-coms like The Wedding Planner (2001), Maid in Manhattan (2002), Monster-in-Law (2005), and What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012).

But along the way, she's definitely had her fair share of flops. "You were in Anaconda," Meyers stated matter-of-factly, to which the star responded, "I was?!"

She continued good-naturedly, saying, "I was also in Gigli. I was also in ... what else? What else sucked?"

Meyers mentioned an SNL sketch from back in the day, when Affleck got "so mad" about all the bad press their film was getting.

Lopez commented, "We got a lot of crap at that time ... and it was because we were together ... there was a whole other thing that was happening. There are worse movies than Gigli out there!"

No, I'm pretty sure it got bad press because it is one of the most bizarrely terrible movies in existence. That doesn't change, regardless of whether or not the leading man and lady were engaged in real life. Sorry, Jen, just accept it for what it is -- you can't win 'em all.

Do you think there are movies worse than Gigli?
