'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Star Yolanda Foster Relapses - Unable to Read or Write

yolanda fosterThere is very sad news for fans of the good-hearted Yolanda Foster from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Foster has Lyme Disease and has been able to manage the illness for the past three years, but her health has taken a turn for the worse and now Yolanda has lost the ability to read, write, and watch TV. She said she feels as if life is happening without being able to participate in it. Fans of Foster know how much of a sweetheart she is, and the many things she has had to overcome in life.

Her mother is in failing health. Her father died in a car accident when she was just a kid. And her daughter Bella was arrested for a DUI.  It seemed as though Yolanda, who is just 51 years young, wasn't having too many issues with Lyme Disease, but she relapsed and her condition has become very serious.

More From The Stir: 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Recap: Yolanda Foster's Tears Touch Moms Everywhere

In a Bravo blog post, Yolanda said:

Although writing is usually my favorite thing to do, I unfortunately have lost the ability to do so in an intelligent matter at this time. Most of you know I have been battling Lyme disease for the past three years. I wasted the first year trying to get diagnosed and spent the next two trying to find a cure. I have gone from the conventional long-term antibiotics to about every holistic protocol there is to offer. Unfortunatly (sic), I was only able to get to about a 60% recovery until I relapsed in early December and have not been able to find my way back.

Lyme Neuroborreliosis is a spirochete infection in the brain that can leave one with severe brain impairment and neurological issues. I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can't process information or any stimulation for that matter. It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it.

She also shared that she is "of no use to anyone or anything at this moment while weathering the storm." How awful and terrifying that must be for Yolanda. This is heartbreaking. With her husband by her side, she has traveled to Singapore to try their treatment. She noted his "unwavering support" as well as the support of her children, "and a handful of true friends." She also thanked her fans for their messages of hope and love on social media.

It seems that she is doing all she can -- exploring many options -- in order to beat this. I'm so happy she has her family by her side -- that's vital for her right now. I'm hopeful that she will get results from her treatments and she is able to get through this and become stronger than ever.

Do you know anyone battling Lyme Disease? Join me in sending Yolanda well wishes.
