10 Celebrities Who Dated Directors (PHOTOS)

Jennifer Lawrence attends the Premiere of Lionsgate's 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on November 17, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.

There seems to be no end in sight for Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin's on-again, off again relationship, but could a rumor that the 24-year-old Oscar winner was spending time with a director named Gabe Polsky have been the cause of Chris' rekindled affection? If Jennifer did hook up with the Red Sky director, she'd hardly be the first actress to partner up with a filmmaker off-screen. Read on for nine more celebs who have been romantically linked to a director.

Which pair surprises you the most?

Kristen Stewart may or may not be in a relationship with a woman these days, but back in the summer of 2012, the actress and her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders caused a major scandal in Hollywood when they were photographed in a steamy embrace in a park

Considering that their affair ended their respective relationships (Rupert's marriage to wife Liberty Ross and KStew's relationship with Robert Pattinson) and reportedly caused the movie studio to dump both of them from the Snow White sequel, we're guessing that these two might feel a teensy bit of regret about their hookup.

  • Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton seemed like a perfectly paired (and equally kooky) match, but alas, the couple recently announced their split after 13 years together.

The 48-year-old actress and 51-year-old director first met in 2001 when he directed her in the Planet of the Apes remake and went on to collaborate on an additional five films together.

Former SNL funny lady Mary Rudolph has been in living in non-wedded bliss with director Paul Thomas Anderson since 2001. The couple has four children and recently worked together for the first time on Paul's film Inherent Vice.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson was only 19 years old when he met his future wife Sam Taylor-Wood on the set of their 2009 film Nowhere Boy.

The two raised quite a few eyebrows at the start of their romance due to their 23-year age difference, but since marrying in 2012, the couple has proven that they have staying power.

  • Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet definitely has a thing for directors; she married not one, but two!

The 39-year-old actress met her first husband, assistant director Jim Threapleton, on the set of Hideous Kinky and was married for three years before splitting up in 2001. Kate then moved on to director Sam Mendes who would later direct her in the Oscar-nominated movie Revolutionary Road.

It seems her director phase might be behind Kate, however. She married businessman Ned Rocknroll (yes, that's his last name) in 2012.

  • Rachel Weisz

Rachel Weisz has a few things in common with fellow Brit Kate Winslet. Besides their Oscar-winning careers, both actresses have had several love affairs with directors, including a relationship with the same one: Sam Mendes.

Rachel reportedly dated Sam before falling in love with Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, whom she worked with on the 2006 film The Fountain.

The couple called it quits in 2010, and Rachel rebounded with James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, the following year.

  • Leslie Mann

If it weren't for her director/producer husband Judd Apatow, we might not be as familiar with the amazing comedic talents of actress Leslie Mann. The couple first met in 2001 when Leslie was guest-starring on the Apatow-produced TV series Freaks and Geeks and went on to collaborate on four films together, including Leslie's breakout role in Knocked Up.

  • Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich may have found box-office success with her starring role in the film The Fifth Element, but she found love with the movie's director Luc Besson as well. The couple divorced in 1999 but not before making one more film together with Milla in the starring role.

In 2002, Milla found both success and love again -- this time, with Resident Evil and its director, Paul W.S. Anderson. The couple married in 2009 and have one daughter together with another baby reportedly on its way.

  • Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn may be happily coupled up with football player Aaron Rodgers at the moment, but her romantic life hasn't always been smooth-sailing.

In her book Suck It, Wonder Woman!: The Misadventures of a Hollywood Geek, the 34-year-old actress wrote about a relationship she had with a famous director when she was just starting out in her career.

The director was later revealed to be Tower Heist director Brett Ratner who, at first, denied knowing Olivia at all and later admitted that he had "banged her" a few times. Classy!
