Kate Middleton Has a Classic 'Mom' Birthday Celebration

On Friday, Kate Middleton turned 33. Being that it's her last birthday as a mama of one, you'd think the Duchess would have wanted to do something special to celebrate, something spontaneous, something she probably won't be able to do again for a loooong time when she's got both a newborn and a toddler on her hands. But nope. The future Queen of England had a laid-back evening on her mind to mark another year.

Instead of putting on a sparkly gown and hitting up one of London's poshest restaurants with Prince William, Kate decided to stay in with Wills and George at their country home, Anmer Hall. The reason? "It was easier than going out and leaving George at home … She doesn't like a big fuss."

Gotta love that Duchess. Despite having 15 people at her beck and call who could tend to her son for the night, ultimately, all she wanted was to throw on a pair of sweats, eat pasta, and have a Netflix marathon. (I'm assuming.)

Of course, being that she's around six months pregnant, the likelihood of Kate feeling up to painting the town red with the Mister is pretty slim. Between tending to her royal obligations and chasing after her toddler son, the woman's probably exhausted. But still -- it's incredibly sweet that she wanted to spend the night in with both of her boys as opposed to a low-key night out with Prince William.

Once the new baby comes, it's doubtful Kate will have quite as much time with George as she's always had, so it's really nice that she's spending as much time with him now as possible. And as for her birthday next year? I have a feeling that Kate and Will will be going out. With a baby and a toddler in the house, the Duke and Duchess will probably be itching to get out! Happy Birthday, Kate!
