Nicki Minaj Reveals 4 Heartbreaking Secrets on 'All Things Go'

Nicki MinajWhoa -- Nicki Minaj gets deeply personal in the latest track off her upcoming studio album, The Pinkprint. The 31-year-old rapper released "All Things Go" on Wednesday, December 3, and the emotional, slow-tempo song references at least four heartbreaking secrets the star has thus far been keeping to herself.

The "Anaconda" singer took a break from her normal style of rap to bring us this moving confessional full of raw emotion. In it, she talks about everything from her mom to a broken engagement to losing a child to the death of a family member. Yup, it's definitely a sharp turn from rapping about the size of her booty.

She lost a baby when she was a teenager. It's unclear as to whether it was a miscarriage or an abortion, and there's no further reference to who the father is other than a name, but she would've been about 15 at the time.

"My child with Aaron, would've have been sixteen, any minute / So in some ways I feel like 'Caiah, is the both of them / It's like he's 'Caiah's little angel, looking over him."

She blames herself in part for her cousin's death. Nicholas Telemaque was shot and killed in July 2011, and from the following lyrics, it seems like the pop star wishes she'd done more to reach out to him, and fix whatever family ties were broken.

"I lost my little cousin to a senseless act of violence / His sister said, he wanted to stay with me, but I didn't invite him / Why didn't he ask, or am I just buggin'? / Cause since I got fame, they don't act the same / Even though they know, that I love him / Family ties, broken before me, n----s tryna kill him, he ain't even call me / And that's the reflection of me, yes I get it, I get it, it was all me / I pop a pill and remember the look in his eyes, the last day he saw me."

She has unresolved issues with her mom. Nicki has been very vocal about the abuse her father inflicted upon their family growing up, thanks to his addiction to alcohol and cocaine. Her mother has since kicked him to the curb, and he's received treatment for his addiction, but it seems as though there are some underlying issues there still.

"I love my mother more than life itself and that's a fact / I'd give it all if I could somehow just rekindle that/ She never understands why I'm so over-protective / The more I work the more I feel like their neglected."

She was engaged. Apparently someone once put a ring on it, about a decade ago.

"Ten years ago, that's when you proposed / I look down, yes I suppose."

That's a lot of information for one five-minute song. I guess you know what they say -- confession is good for the soul.

Are you surprised that Nicki Minaj got so personal on "All Things Go"?
