Shia LaBeouf Says He Was Raped By a Woman at His Art Show

Has Shia LaBeouf heard about the Boy Who Cried Wolf? The actor has said and done so many wacky things over the last few years that when he actually says something we should probably take very seriously, we're all like, yeah, but Shia LaBeouf said that. The Transformers star recently confessed to a journalist that he was raped by a woman who attended his February performance art project in Beverly Hills with her boyfriend -- and we're honestly not sure what to think.

Shia, who recently had a court appearance in New York City to deal with a disorderly conduct and harassment charge, staged an event called #IAmSorry at a gallery last winter in which he awkwardly sat on a chair with a bag over his head that read "I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE" and invited strangers to visit him one-on-one. The idea was that each person could do or say whatever he or she wanted to him without repercussion.

Sounds frightening, right?

The performance artist claims one woman visited him with her boyfriend, who waited outside, and whipped his legs for 10 minutes before stripping his clothing and raping him. Shia says other members of the public were waiting outside on line at the time and that his own girlfriend was also on the line because it was Valentine's Day and she wanted to see him.

Shia says he did not enjoy the experience and that "It was no good, not just for me but her man as well."

If this story is true, it's totally horrible and I'm sorry he had to go through it. But, on the other hand, why didn't he stop her or scream for help? Was there no one around who would have heard him and stopped the rape?

It's unfortunate because if Shia were a woman, this story would be front-page news everywhere. But aside from the fact that his gender complicates matters, the whole thing is just a little bit bizarre and Shia's past conduct makes us wonder whether he is always in the here and now.

Again, I REPEAT, if this happened to Shia, it's horrific and a totally disgusting way for a human being to take advantage of another person. I guess we'll have to wait and see if this story develops.

What do you think about Shia saying he was raped at his art performance?
