Idina Menzel & Michael Buble Kiddie Version of 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' Is Just Creepy (VIDEO)

idina menzel michael buble cold outsidePretty sure most of America can agree: Baby, it's freakin' cold outside. The temperatures have plummeted, the flip-flops are gathering dust, waistlines are expanding post-bikini season, puffy coats are making their appearance, and holiday decorations are already getting set up. So what better time to have two amazing, talented singers, Idina Menzel and Michael Buble, come out with their own rendition of the infamous, date rapey song, "Baby It's Cold Outside." Featuring a bunch of children.

Okay, so it's not as bad as it could be because it's a PG version of the hit duet. They changed some of the more questionable lyrics, replacing "Well maybe just half a drink more / Put some records on while I pour," with "Well maybe just a soda pop more / Put some records on while I pour," and "But maybe just a cigarette more / Never such a blizzard before" for "But maybe just another dance more / Never such a blizzard before."

And luckily "Say, what's in that drink?" -- probably one of the skeeviest lines in the song -- was replaced with "Say, was that a wink?"

Check it out:

As you can see, the video itself features two very very cute kids lip synching and dancing to the iconic tune, with brief glimpses of the actual singers in a mirror, strutting and waving at the little ones. (There's just something weird about adult voices coming out of kids, isn't there?) Assuming reactions will range from This is adorable and awesome! to This is still really creepy, why didn't they choose another song?? to Wow, I really don't care and will proceed to forget about this in the next 30 minutes, everyone at least can be in agreement that it's great they made the song more "kid-friendly." Though let's just hope the little ones don't go googling the song and start belting out the original lyrics featuring alcohol, cigarettes, and date rape. You could argue that they would simply go right over a kid's head, but you gotta admit, without that catchy, adorable, stuck-in-your-head tune, the lyrics to this song are pretty damn creepy.

Kudos to Adele Dazeem and Michael Buble for trying to make this song PG just in time for when it's insanely cold out. But we all thought the cold never bothered her anyway? (Yes, that will get old quickly, but it had to be said.) And would this have been far more cute if the kids actually sang it? A question for the philosophers ... and too much time has been spent thinking about this.

Do you like this version of the song? Cute or creepy?
