'People's 2014 Sexiest Man Alive Chris Hemsworth Is No Adam Levine

Fatherhood is hot -- just ask this year's Sexiest Man Alive, as chosen by People magazine. The lucky winner is ... Chris Hemsworth! The 31-year-old Australian, who is Liam's brother and was almost Miley Cyrus' brother-in-law, has been married to Spanish model Elsa Pataky since 2010. The couple have their hands full with three super-young kids -- India, who's 2 and a half, and 8-month-old twin sons, Tristan and Sasha. The Avengers actor had some adorable things to say about being chosen -- prepare yourself to fall even more in love with him.

Chris told People he joked with his 38-year-old wife that being named "Sexiest" should get him out of diaper and dishwasher-unloading duties now that he's "made it." He also said he considered the label "pretty funny," which is just awesome because it proves he doesn't take all of this very seriously and is simply focused on being a working actor and good dad.

When asked what he likes to do, Chris' response was to stay home with his kids and wife -- can you ask for much more in a (hot) husband?

Here's the cover showing a smoldering Chris -- dear god, those baby blue eyes and that scruff:

Apparently, Chris beat out an impressive 208 contenders -- including Jamie Dornan of Fifty Shades, Parks and Recreation's Chris Pratt, and Michael Strahan.

I think this year's choice is a little predictable, considering Chris' almost non-debatable, classically good looks. But since People caused a bit of an uproar when they gave Adam Levine the honor last year, it makes sense that they might want to play it safe this year.

Overall, I approve of this choice. I just can't help but wonder whether the folks that made this call had a difficult time deciding between Chris and Liam. Did they flip a coin? How does one choose?

What do you think of this year's Sexiest Man Alive?
