Katie Holmes Says She Still 'Dearly Loves' Her 'Dawson's Creek' Costars

Katie HolmesKatie Holmes recently reminded us how old we're getting by talking about her time as Joey Potter on Dawson's Creek -- which ended 11 years ago. I know, I don't understand how time works either. Anyway, the now 35-year-old recently participated in a Q&A, and revealed that she still stays in touch with costars Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, and James Van Der Beek, and "loves them dearly."

From the Apple Store in Soho, NYC this week, Tom Cruise's ex-wife dished about the unbreakable bond she formed with her cast mates on the show that made her a household name.

"You know, we all still keep in touch and support each other," she confessed. "And luckily, we all have been able to stay busy. We had a really wonderful time. It was six years of our lives, and we were all really passionate about making it the best it could be. We really believed in ourselves."

The Miss Meadows actress got emotional when she talked about what her former costars still mean to her. "I love them all so dearly. I'm so excited for everyone and proud. I can't believe ... it seems like yesterday, and then it seems like a hundred years ago when we made it. We really did have a good time."

Dawson's Creek ran for six seasons on The WB, from 1998 to 2003, and according to Holmes, taught her a lot about working in the business.

"It really taught me discipline," she said. "We worked long hours every day. We learned about telling a story in seven days, and keeping energy up while in character. So it was a really good foundation for being in this business and putting the work in."

And she's not one of those actors that minds watching herself onscreen, as it turns out. But it isn't ego, it's just reminiscing. She said she'll stop channel surfing if she finds the show on somewhere.

"If something comes out, I'll watch a little bit [but] usually it's like looking at old pictures," she said. "Like, 'Oh, I remember that scene!' Whether it was really cold out or whether the light was running out or whether I was so stressed about this or 'that was really fun.'" Added the star: "It's full of memories so I'll watch a little bit of it. I don't watch the whole thing, but I've had a great time in my career so I have a nice time looking back."

Are you surprised to hear that the Dawson's Creek kids are still all friends?
