Eminem Threatens Lana Del Ray With Violence in Disturbing New Video

Oh Eminem, you go through these phases where you are quiet for so long and then bam -- you gotta drum up some controversy. Though this time I'm not really sure where it's coming from and what you have against Lana Del Ray?

Eminem has a new compilation album coming out called Shady XV, and to promote it, he released a freestyle rap video with Slaughterhouse and YelaWolf called "SHADYXV -- THE CXVPHER" where he uses the Ray Rice scandal as a way to call out Lana and threaten violence against her!

The disturbing lyrics go:

But I may fight for gay rights, especially if they dyke is more of a knockout than Janay Rice / Play nice? Bitch I'll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance / 'Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens.

What? There has been no apparent beef between Lana and Eminem (in fact, in 2012 Lana talked about how much she loved Eminem). This isn't the early 2000s when all the pop stars of the moment from Christina Aguilera to NSYNC were prime targets for all of Eminem's raps. And talking about punching a woman in the face is terrible, misogynistic, and out of line no matter how you look at it. So what's the deal?!

While Lana has yet to comment, her pal, rapper Azealia Banks, is sticking up for Lana by tweeting:

It's not Eminem's style to apologize, but maybe this time around, he'll at least offer some sort of explanation. Not that that makes it okay, but at least we can try and figure out why he went there and maybe take some responsibility for going too far. It's just hard to wrap my head around lyrics like this when he has a daughter too!
