Quit Asking Kelly Osbourne Who Will Replace Joan Rivers

Listen up, people: As a society we really need to stop asking Kelly Osbourne (and all of the Fashion Police co-hosts) about the late Joan Rivers, especially as it pertains to who will replace the comedienne as the show's chief moderator.

The purple-haired fashion commentator made an appearance on Today Monday morning and was visibly upset when the talk almost immediately turned to Rivers, whom Osbourne has referred to as "the only grandmother I ever knew."

I can't lie and say I'm amazing. It's something, to be honest with you, I really don't like talking about because because I haven't been able to mourn and grieve the way I want to. Not one person that I have seen or walked up to me or spoken to me since the day she passed has ... the first thing that comes out of their mouth is, 'Who's replacing Joan?'

Naturally it's the question on everyone's mind since Rivers was the force to be reckoned with in the world of celebrity fashion, but just a smidgen of sensitivity toward the people who so obviously loved this woman would be nice.

This isn't a case of a celebrity whining about a lack of privacy, it's about being decent and compassionate about real human emotions we all have (yes, including the famous). Would we ask a widow whom she is going to replace her partner with? No. So why can't we let someone like Osbourne grieve privately? The insensitivity is taking its toll on the 30-year-old. She told Today:

I have started to get to my angry phase. So, it's not been fun.

It's pretty safe to assume that when E! has found their replacement for Rivers, they'll make a big deal about it as a network, so lay off the woman's friends and family for any major public announcements, will ya?

Do you think Fashion Police should continue without Joan Rivers?
