Jon Gosselin's Confession About His Love Life Is Kind of Pathetic

Jon GosselinIt seems like Jon Gosselin's theme song recently must be a sad trombone. The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star has had quite the run of bad luck since his fall from reality TV fame and grace. He lost his job as a waiter, and last month was reportedly evicted from his cabin in the woods for failure to pay his rent.

Let's add to the sad story of Jon's life at the moment, shall we? After a string of romances following his 2008 split from Kate Gosselin, the 37-year-old recently said in an interview that he's dating himself right now.

Womp, womp.

Plus he recently split from his girlfriend Liz Jannetta. He's also dated Kate Major and Hailey Glassman since the bitter end of his marriage to the Type A Queen of reality TV. That divorce was so nasty and full of awful accusations and ickiness that it had us shaking our heads at both of them.

At least Kate managed to pull her crap together, stay working, and support herself and the couple's eight children, twins Cara and Madelyn, 14, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel, 10.

Jon had his women, it seemed, but now he doesn't even have that."I'm dating myself right now," he confessed in a new interview with Extra. "I don't even know myself ... I've always been with a woman."

"The truth is I made some poor financial decisions, but I am living in a home," he continued. "I've got to figure out who I am. Being a father, devoting my time toward my kids..."

You know, all joking aside, this is probably a really good move for Jon. He and Kate got married so young, and then had so many kids so quickly, and shot to stardom with their TLC show ... he probably needs a little breather to just figure out who the heck he wants to be when he grows up.

Plus maybe he'll have more time now to devote to his kids, whom he does not have custody of. Whether it's finding employment to help support them, or even just spending more time with them, kids need their dads, and it would be nice to see more of his focus on fatherhood.

Just don't look for him to have an amicable relationship with his ex-wife. When asked about his contact with Kate, Jon said, "There is no real relationship, like we don't talk ... [Co-parenting is] just not working at this point in time ... the biggest reason, I think we both wanted different things. I wanted to settle down and kind of get off TV for a while ... and she wanted to further her career."

Look for Kate's latest career advancement on the upcoming seventh season of The Celebrity Appearance with Donald Trump. When asked if he'd watch the show, Jon quipped, "If she gets fired probably, I'll watch that episode."

In all fairness, I'd probably watch that episode too.

Do you think Jon Gosselin is making a good move on giving up dating for awhile?
