Kate Middleton Gives Her Assistant the Greatest Gift on Earth

When Kate Middleton stepped out recently in an absolutely stunning, light blue Jenny Packham gown, there clearly was something different about her. Maybe it was the fact that she wasn't wearing her trusty L.K. Bennett nude pumps, or maybe it was the fact that her hemline was a little bit shorter than we're used to seeing. But something was different -- in a good way. Turns out, there's a reason for that. According to reports, the Duchess of Cambridge promoted her personal assistant to her personal stylist. I know. Quite the promotion.

Vanity Fair is claiming that Kate's personal assistant, 27-year-old Natasha Archer (known in the palace as "Tash"), is now responsible for dressing the future Queen of England. "Initially Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it. Tash helps source some of the clothes. She shops a lot for Kate online, and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on," a source told VF. "She has persuaded Kate to take some more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate’s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes." Ooh, like. Kate always looks flawless whenever we see her, but it will be nice to see her shake things up a bit and break out of her knee-length-skirt-and-jacket mold. And side note: How cool is Kate for turning her personal assistant into her stylist?!

Of course, everyone wants to look their best (especially if they're in the public eye), but not everyone in a position such as the Duchess' would be willing to bestow a title such as "royal stylist" unto anyone. The fact that Kate promoted Archer simply because she likes her eye for style (even though she's "just" a personal assistant) speaks volumes as to the type of person she is. She doesn't care about rank, she just cares about getting the job done -- and she's willing to give people a chance!

I look forward to seeing Kate's evolving style in the coming months. If her past few appearances are any indication, they're bound to be flawless.

What do you think of Kate promoting her personal assistant?
