Angelina Jolie Hints She Could Quit Acting for a Brand New Career

Angelina Jolie on cover of Vanity Fair

Angelina Jolie is one of those rare celebrities who we've really seen evolve (in a good way). Gone are the wild-child days of wearing vials of her lover's blood around her neck, and today we know the Oscar winner as devoted mother to her six kids with husband Brad Pitt and an important global ambassador.

So with that much devotion to the issues Angelina is truly passionate about -- does that mean a political career is her next big thing? She graces the December cover of Vanity Fair and doesn't deny that politics are on her mind!

Angelina said of taking on an elected or appointed office:

When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered. Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility. But I honestly don’t know in what role I would be more useful -- I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible.

But when pressed further by the writer about pursuing a life in politics, diplomacy, or public service, Angelina does admit, “I am open."

I have to say, this is great news. Angelina's political/humanitarian resume is vast. Highlights include being the Goodwill Ambassador in 2001, working in Africa, championing projects in Afghanistan, Haiti, and Cambodia, serving as the special envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and so much more. She's been on the field and seen firsthand what the biggest challenges are around the world and knows what needs to be accomplished to fix them once and for all. That's the type of passion and dedication we need in our elected officers.

Angelina is a woman who commands power and respect. She could be extremely influential in bringing a whole new audience -- namely women -- to be excited and engaged in world issues. She is someone we could trust to tell us the cold hard facts and follow her lead without hesitation or any doubt.

Hillary Clinton, are you listening? If you get elected in 2016, Angelina could make a nice addition to your cabinet ... just saying!

Would you like to see Angelina Jolie go into politics? Would you vote for her?
