Amy Poehler's Date With John Stamos Totally Came Out of Nowhere

Amy PoehlerOh man, Amy Poehler is not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve! In an interview with Howard Stern on Monday, October 27, the Parks and Recreation star did not hold back while promoting her new memoir Yes Please, out this Tuesday.

The 43-year-old comedienne opened up about a taboo pastime, dating after her divorce from Will Arnett in April 2014, and that time she may have screwed up any chance of a second date with Hollywood heartthrob John Stamos -- if that time they hung out was even a date at all.

Poehler opened up about how bizarre the dating scene is now, compared to before she got married over a decade ago. "It was new and weird," she admitted. "I hadn't dated when there was texting. I got married in 2003 and all of a sudden I'm like, 'Oh, right. Now you text somebody.' That was new. There were times when I was out with guys and I was like, 'Oh, I think I might be on a date, but I don't know.'"

One of those times was when she was out with one of Hollywood's most famous stud muffins eligible bachelors.

"I remember I was at dinner with John Stamos ... handsome men are really something else ... We were having dinner and I was like, 'Oh, maybe this is a date!' But I didn't know," Poehler said. "But I kind of blew it ... I remember thinking like, 'Oh, s--t. Like, if this is really a date ...' I think I was wearing a Leslie Knope top. I think I was wearing a shirt from work!"

She went on to say that she "didn't f--k" Uncle Jesse, and that she prefers to date people she's known for awhile.

"I've usually dated people that I have been friends with, and I'm dating someone now. I have a boyfriend whom I've known for a very long time before we started dating," she shared, which certainly is true of her current paramour, fellow comedy star Nick Kroll.

She also said she's taking things slow ... like so slow they may never get to the point of cohabiting. "It's great to not live with somebody," she said, presumably precluding sons Archie, 5, and Abel, 4, whom she shares with Arnett. "I don't know if I ever want to live with somebody else again."

Word. Boys are messy. Just saying. Besides, it might totally interfere with her naughty bedtime habit -- dirty movies. Remember when I said she didn't hold back in this interview? Yeah.

"I like my porn like my comedy: Done by professionals, women who are at the top of their game," she confessed. "So, I like professional ladies who are enjoying themselves. I'm not an amateur person. I want everybody to look good and be good at their jobs," she continued. Then she belatedly realized that she was live on the air. "Oh my god! I just remembered my dad's listening to this! Sorry, dad! I just called him this morning and was like, 'I'm gonna be on Stern this morning!' S--t! Sorry, dad! Love you, pop!"

I have a feeling that Amy Poehler's dad is somewhat hard to shock with his daughter's hilarious yet occasionally raunchy outspokenness.

What do you think constitutes a date these days?
