Kids grow up in the blink of an eye. One moment, you're in the thick of back-to-school season with LO, and the next, you're kissing them as your now grown child heads off to college. Angelina Jolie is opening up about "rediscovering herself" now that her six children are getting older. It's definitely a rare interview as the celebrity mom keeps pretty hush about her private life and enjoys her time away from cameras.

Angelina's kids look super grown these days.

If you're still thinking of her clan being those adorable little kiddos we sometimes see on the red carpet, think again. Maddox, her oldest, is now 18. (Yes, an adult now ... we're old.) Pax is 15, Zahara is 14, Shiloh is 13, and twins Vivienne and Knox are 11.

"When your children are little you feel more 'mommy.' When they are teenagers you start to remember yourself as a teenager," Angelina admits to the UK publication about her children getting older. "You see them going to punk clubs and you wonder why you can't go. I'm in this fun moment where I'm rediscovering myself."

"Kindness -- to others and themselves," the celeb mom noted. "It's important to be humble -- know the freedoms you have and what you've been blessed with and make sure you help others. And always remember your place -- we’re all human and very flawed. We're tiny pieces in a much bigger world."

"As they grow up, I find my children are strong individuals but still open-minded," Angelina Jolie pointed out.-placeholder

"I try to lead by example and be kind and gracious, as my mother was -- and loving and tolerant. But when there's a fight that needs to be had, get in there. We need to prepare the next generation because there’s so much happening in the world -- they’re up against it. I'm working on a programme for children with the BBC. We're counting on our children so we must give them the right knowledge and support."

Angelina Jolie is going to have plenty of time to "reinvent" herself as her lineup of upcoming films -- such as Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Marvel's Eternals -- will likely be box office hits.
