Whether it's a tale you were told at a slumber party or a time you actually heard something go bump in the night, almost everyone has a ghost story to share. To our delight, there are several celebs who aren't afraid to admit they believe in ghosts or other creepy paranormal phenomena, and they've told some haunting tales on the interview circuits.

From spooky demons haunting Ariana Grande to the friendly ghost of John Lennon lending Paul McCartney a hand writing new songs, here are some of our favorite celebrity ghost stories.

Demi Lovato loves talking about her haunted childhood home in Texas, where as a little girl, her mother would find her talking to no one, and she'd insist she was with her best friend Emily. "I’ve had a medium come over and ghost hunters, and they both told me the same name, Emily," she told BuzzFeed.

On Celebrity Ghost Stories, Pretty Little Liars and Ravenswood star Tyler Blackburn talked about what happened when he moved into an apartment with a female friend of his. He was awoken in the night by strange vibrations, a person-sized wet spot was left on his bed (ew!), and cabinets would fly open. The ghost was apparently attached to his roommate, though, as it left the place when she moved out.

Matthew McConaughey encountered a ghost he called Madame Blue when he first moved into a home in Hollywood. After hearing the sound of a dime dropping from 10 feet onto a coffee table, he got up to investigate ... in the nude, and she's never made much trouble for him after that. "Maybe me being nude all the time is why we get along," he told TeenHollywood.com.

Kate Hudson recently said on the British show Alan Carr: Chatty Man that both she and her mom, Goldie Hawn, see spirits. She has a clever way of dispatching them to their proper place, too: "When you see something, you are supposed to tell the energy what year it is and that they don’t belong there."

  • Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney told Rolling Stone recently that when he's stumped on a song, he talks to the ghost of John Lennon about it. "He'll say, 'You can't go there, man.' And I'll say, 'You're quite right. How about this?'"

  • Michelle Williams

The saddest story of the bunch also doesn't come to us first hand. Several gossip sites reported that Michelle Williams believed she was visited by the ghost of ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger, who told her he was sorry he couldn't be there to raise their daughter, Matilda. Ghost Whisperer producer James Van Praagh said in an interview that he'd been visited by Heath's ghost, too, and was going to do a reading for Williams.

Ariana Grande told Complex that after she visited Stull Cemetery in Kansas (which is supposed to be one of the seven gates to hell), she smelled sulphur and got a negative feeling in the car. She snapped a picture of what she said looked like three demons. Later, she heard sounds and saw black masses in her bedroom and decided to delete the photos.

While performing Waiting for Godot in London's Theatre Royal Haymarket, Patrick Stewart paused for a long time, causing friend and co-star Ian McKellen to ask him later what happened. Stewart said he saw a man in the wings wearing a "beige hat and twill trousers." Employees of the theater ID'd the ghost as John Baldwin Buckstone, an actor/manager of the theater in the 19th century.

  • Kesha

Kesha told Ryan Seacrest that her song "Supernatural" was inspired by "experiences with the supernatural ... but in a sexy way," and she's gone on to talk in other interviews about having sex with this ghost. At least it's risk-free, right?
