Angelina Jolie Receives Amazing Honor From Queen Elizabeth

If you think back to the Angelina Jolie we once knew and loved -- the goth princess who wore a vial of her husband's blood around her neck and who always seemed like she needed a good hug -- you probably would have NEVER guessed she'd one day stand inside of Buckingham Palace. Or that she would be given the highest honor a woman from outside of Britain can get.

Angelina has been made an honorary dame by none other than Queen Elizabeth. The Oscar-winning actress was recognized by the Queen for her outstanding work in fighting for the rights of women and refugees in war-torn countries. And no one in Hollywood is more deserving of the recognition.

Angie, along with husband Brad Pitt and their six children, met the Queen at a private ceremony at the palace. She was awarded the title of Honorary Dame Grand Cross and given an insignia of her new title. She appeared to be all smiles -- and looked absolutely beautiful in a lilac skirt suit -- as she shook the Queen's hand.

Unfortunately, since the celeb is an American, we can't actually refer to her as "Dame Angelina Jolie," which would be badass, but she can apparently call herself "Angelina Jolie DCMG," which clearly is not the same.

It goes without saying, but is Angie having one hell of a life or what? Most of us probably assumed she had peaked when she took home an Oscar for her work in Girl, Interrupted, but her universe just keeps expanding with every good deed she does.

Congrats to Angelina Jolie DCMG, who will always be a straight-up dame to us.

What do you think about Angelina receiving this honor from Queen Elizabeth? Does she deserve it?
