Amanda Bynes Is on Psychiatric Hold Again After Unthinkable Accusations

Amanda BynesAmanda Bynes is in psychiatric lockdown again, for the second time in less than two years. The former Nickelodeon actress spent six months of 2013 in rehab after a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold stemming from a stretch of erratic behavior, including lighting a random fire in a neighbor's driveway.

This hold comes on the heels of some increasingly questionable behavior, including some very serious accusations against her father. She claimed he molested her, but later recanted her statement, saying it was the microchip in her brain that he had ordered that made her say those things.

The microchip in her brain. Obviously there is something very wrong going on with Amanda Bynes' psyche. She was doing doing so well after last year's antics, and I think most of us were really hoping that she'd turned a corner on whatever demons lived in her mind. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.

After landing in Los Angeles on Friday, October 10, she was taken immediately to a facility in Pasadena, according to a source. TMZ reports that she believed a car service was taking her to her parents and their attorney at The London Hotel. Instead, they took her to the health facility, where their lawyer Tamar Arminak was waiting with doctors to admit her.

Arminak issued a statement on behalf of Bynes' mom:

I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years ... Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda's mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband's character could be slandered in such a way.

Such an absolutely heartbreaking story, and needless to say, we all hope that Amanda Bynes gets whatever help it is that she needs.

Do you think Amanda's parents did the right thing in having her placed under psychiatric hold?
