Teresa & Joe Giudice Tell Andy Cohen How They Really Feel About Prison Sentences

Monday night, Andy Cohen sat down with Joe and Teresa Giudice to talk about their recent jail sentence, and although the half hour special was a little uncomfy to watch (Andy took no prisoners!), it was also incredibly enlightening.

For starters, Teresa is understandably a mess about the whole thing. The once-feisty Real Housewives of New Jersey star was a shell of the flashy, over-the-top woman we're used to seeing. I'm thinking part of Tre's new, more humble demeanor is the result of some sort of PR coaching she received on how to portray herself, but it also seemed that Teresa was genuinely beat up about the entire situation. The only thing she kept talking about was her four daughters and how it's going to affect them.

Joe, on the other hand, was a different story.

Joe seemed to have a shred of remorse for what he did (or for getting caught), and he seemed upset by the fact that Teresa was going to be doing time for something that was, ultimately, his fault. But his cool guy, whatever-I-don't-care attitude was definitely present. At one point, when Andy asked him if he was scared about going to prison, he said that he was more scared for Teresa (which was sweet), but then he made some sort of joke about how if someone stabbed him, he probably wouldn't even feel it. It was meant to convey how "numb" he is, but still, it was an odd example to give. He also made a joke about how Teresa would handle prison at one point. How he could possibly have a sense of humor about the situation right now is beyond me.

But perhaps one of the strangest things to come out of the show was the fact that Joe and Teresa revealed that none of their daughters, aside from Gia, know what's going on -- including Milania, who's 8 years old. Obviously, they're going to have to break the news to their girls at some point -- and that's a personal choice -- but, as Andy Cohen said, 8 isn't that young, and Milania goes to school. What if she finds out about things from someone else in a not-so-nice way?

At the end of the day, Joe and Teresa got what they deserved, but it's still sad to watch, being that they have four daughters. From the looks of things, Teresa is on her way to changing some things about herself, but as for Joe -- the jury's still out.

What did you think of the special?
