George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin Are Married In Luxurious, Star-Studded Event

george clooney amal alamuddinIt was all smiles today in Venice, Italy, where George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin. Hollywood hottest and the human rights lawyer had an intimate ceremony, but we all know intimate means something very different to an A-list actor.

There were rules for the guests, who were a collection of the most famous and their closest friends and family. The wedding details are luxurious, and incredibly romantic. Of course George is going to do his wedding with impeccable style, but also with heart and romance.

After the rehearsal dinner last night, George and Amal partied separately. And this morning, Clooney had his cup of coffee with Cindy Crawford. He was in a great mood. Coffee with Cindy Crawford and then marrying the beautiful and smart Amal Alamuddin?! Of course he's in a great mood!

He was also about to celebrate his nuptials with his pals Bono, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Ellen Barkin, Anna Wintour, Richard Kind, Emily Blunt, and John Krasinski. (Leo had to be there, don't you think?! Brad? Angie? We'll know soon enough.) These friends had some rules to follow -- no phones, no cameras. But they were given cameras to use at the ceremony. While they were in Venice for the big day, they were treated like the A-listers they are. Everyone had an itinerary, suggestions on what to do, and were told that drinks by the piano were ready for them at the Cipriani hotel pool. They were also given an iPod with a personalized playlist. Nice touch, George. They also received a note from George and Amal that read, "We're both so glad you're here. You've come a long way so we'll make it worth the trip. Thanks for being here. It means the world to us."

And today, at sunset, the guests began their journey to the Aman Canal Grande Hotel. The crowds lined the Grand Canal as everyone took vintage water taxis to the hotel for the ceremony. Everyone except Amal, who seemed to be honoring the tradition of not letting many see her in her wedding dress before the event.

Once at the Aman Canal Grande, George's good friend Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome was all set to officiate the wedding. The couple said "I do" around 8:45 p.m. Everyone cheered! George Clooney is officially no longer the eternal bachelor we all thought he was going to be.

Dinner was a feast of lemon risotto, lobster, and fried polenta with mushrooms. Delicious! It was reported there was lots of dancing and the DJ played Amy Winehouse, Daft Punk, Blondie, and Jackson 5. Sounds like a blast. Fifty-three year-old George and 36-year-old Amal had incredible favors for their guests, too -- a framed photo of the two love birds. Who wouldn't want a picture of George? I bet even Bono is going to hang it in his family room. I personally cannot wait to see what Amal was wearing. Waiting ....

Wishing the newlyweds lots of love and happiness!

Does George and Amal's wedding sound as incredible as you thought it would?
