Amber Rose, Wiz Khalifa

What is it about marriage in Hollywood? It almost seems inevitable these days that it's only a matter of time before two celebrities call it quits after vowing to love one another until death parts them.

Some splits happen sooner rather than later. Much sooner. We just got hit with the sad sad news that Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa have broken up after just one year together, and it's anything but amicable. That seems to be the way it goes, doesn't it? The shorter the marriage, the nastier the split. Not a hard and fast rule or anything, but doesn't that seem like the case more often than not?

Anyway, it seems like the perfect time to reflect on 12 other celebrity marriages that have gone down in flames in no time flat.

Are you surprised any of these couples didn't work out?

72 days. These two were infamously married for a mere 72 days after turning their nuptials into a media circus for her reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. But it wasn't a sham at all. Feel free to roll your eyes now.

  • Drew Barrymore & Tom Green

163 days. Aww, remember back in 2000, when we were all obsessed over when this quirky couple would tie the knot? They finally did in July 2001, after a year-long engagement -- much longer than their marriage ended up being.

  • Jennifer Lopez & Chris Judd

218 days. Jenny From the Block married her backup dancer in 2001, but they only made it about seven months. In 2014, Judd hinted that JLo doesn't like to deal with her baggage, and that makes her relationships hard.

  • Dennis Rodman & Carmen Electra

9 days. In 1998, this couple walked down the aisle after an all-nighter in Vegas. They agreed to an annulment just over a week later, and rumor has it they didn't even see each other during that time.

55 hours. Way back before Brit Brit shaved her head, attacked cars with umbrellas, or even headlined her own Vegas show, she married her childhood friend in 2004. Her family and management team quickly nipped that in the bud.

  • Mario Lopez & Ali Landry

18 days. After six years together, Ali confronted her then-fiance just days before their 2004 wedding about some infidelity rumors she had overheard. He denied it, they went through with the wedding, and then she had it annulled when she couldn't deny it to herself anymore.

  • Nicolas Cage & Lisa Marie Presley

107 days. In 2002, this couple married and then divorced a short three months later. Cage's only comment at the time was, "I did not comment on the marriage, I am not going to comment on the divorce." Presley said they "shouldn't have been married in the first place."

  • Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito

4 months. If you blinked in 2007, you might have missed that these two were married. Jennifer made waves earlier this year when she said that her ex was a "funny, smart, cocky, arrogant, and a master manipulator." She doesn't say it's about her ex-husband, but one has to wonder.

  • Renée Zellweger & Kenny Chesney

225 days. This couple famously tied the knot in 2005, a mere four months after meeting ... and then just as famously got an annulment four months after that. She cited "fraud" as the reason, which made us all raise our eyebrows, but she explained that it was just legal language and no reflection on his character.

  • Pamela Anderson & Kid Rock

122 days. This rockstar couple dated on and off from 2001 to 2003, and upon rekindling their romance in 2006, they decided that marriage was a good idea. It wasn't.

  • Sophia Bush & Chad Michael Murray

5 months. These One Tree Hill sweethearts tied the knot in 2005, but she got an annulment on the grounds of fraud after rumors surfaced that he cheated on her with Paris Hilton. They continued to work together after the split, and in 2014, she admitted that while it was awkward, "at the end of the day we're grownups."

  • Katy Perry & Russell Brand

14 months. He may have been the one to end things, but I think the "Roar" singer dodged a bullet. She admitted in June 2013 that they did not keep in touch after the split. She said, "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
