Kim Kardashian Takes North West Somewhere No Toddler Should Go

Okay, look. I'm all about kids. Have one of my own and another one on the way. They're great, and save for a few places, such as fancy restaurants and, I dunno, operating rooms, I'm of the belief that they should be allowed pretty much everywhere. But something about Kim Kardashian bringing North West to a fashion show just seems ... off. Yes, North looks cute as a button as per usual, but was it really necessary for Kim and Kanye to bring their toddler to the Balenciaga show in Paris? And sit front row?

I don't doubt for a minute that Kim is a good mother. I respect that she's kept her daughter off of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and how she doesn't Instagram a million photos of her. But. This right here seems an eensy bit like Kim and Kanye are, well, bringing North more as an accessory, for lack of a better word, than out of necessity or to give her an experience. The Kardashian-Wests certainly aren't the kind of parents who suddenly find themselves in a childcare bind -- particularly when they're in a different country and very likely brought childcare with them. And it isn't like Kim and Kanye are the kind of hovering parents who simply can't bear to be without their child for a few hours (and there's certainly nothing wrong with that!). Hell, they've gone to other countries without their child before!

It seems like North is an unusually well-behaved little toddler. She endures incredibly long flights on a regular basis; gets toted around town, where dozens of photographers are in her face and doesn't as much as let out a whimper; and apparently is content sitting through fashion shows. Lucky for Kim and Kanye. But, uh, guys? Your daughter has her entire life to attend the shows at Paris Fashion Week. It probably wasn't necessary to start her at, you know, 1.

What do you think of Kim and Kanye bringing North to a fashion show?
