Tennis Pro Caroline Wozniacki Reveals the Horrible Way Her Fiance Dumped Her

Caroline WozniackiThere may be never be a perfect way to break up an engagement, but there's definitely a wrong way. After all, you've pledged to pledge your undying love to another person forever, to live with them and likely someday start a family together, so to break the news that you don't want that after all must be done with a certain amount of decorum.

Tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki and her fiance Rory McIlroy called off their engagement last May, but she just recently opened up about how it went down with the golf pro. According to her, he broke up with her over the phone, then put out a press release without her consent.

Zoinks! Well that's pretty uncool.

Wozniacki, who made it to the US Open finals last Sunday, told Graham Bensinger, "I was shocked. I thought at least it would be face-to-face or something but there was nothing." The 24-year-old stunner said, "It was a phone call and I didn't hear from him again."

She continued, "It was very hard because he made it very public from the start ... He put out a press release and all of that so it just got put in my face."

The 25-year-old golfer proposed last New Year's Eve in Sydney, but got cold feet just a few months later. He announced their split (apparently after making a phone call) in May, saying, "The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn't ready for all that marriage entails ... I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we've had ... I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting."

It may have sucked, but it looks like she may have dodged a bullet with that one. Better before tying the knot than a decade-plus later. Believe me on this one.

What's the worst way you've ever been broken up with?
