'RHONY' Diva Ramona Singer Demoted to Recuring Cast Member

ramona singer, rhonyOh how the mighty have fallen. Ramona Singer sniped and clawed her way through the last season of Real Housewives of New York as though she was untouchable. Well, she wasn't. She has been demoted.

According to Us Weekly, Ramona, who has been on the show since it's debut seven season ago, has been given a significantly reduced role.  She is now saddled with a recurring role rather than fulltime cast member status. That's gotta sting.

Ramona did her best to stir up trouble during the last go around. She took an especially venomous dislike to newbie Kristen Taekman. One day she was throwing wine in the former model's face. The next it was a wine glass. Not only that, she turned on her most loyal friend - Sonja Morgan. It was backstabbing at it's best and a move that she likely thought would earn her a spot in season 8. No such luck. At least she wasn't outright fired like Aviva Drescher.

An insider tells the magazine that Bravo big wigs have decided to build the show around Kristen, Heather Thomson, and Carole Radziwill. "[When] Ramona carried that show, this is why raitngs plummeted, they think," the source said.

This may be a huge loss for fans of the Singer Stinger, but surely no one is fretting more than Ramona herself. Last season she reportedly pulled in $600,000. Looks like that money will go to finding new divas for the lineup.

Do you think it's a mistake to cut Ramona's role?
