Kate Middleton Threw an Adorably Common First Birthday Party for George

kate middletonAs you may have heard, a certain little prince turned 1 on Tuesday. Yep, Kate Middleton and Prince William's son had his first birthday already. Crazy, right? Seems like it was only yesterday that we were watching the Duchess cradle her newborn on the steps of the Lindo Wing outside St. Mary's Hospital. How royal time flies!

Anyway, true to William and Kate form, the typically low-key couple didn't go crazy, a la Kardashian-style, for their baby's first birthday. But being that it was such a momentous occasion, of course they celebrated their little dude's special day.

Here, everything we know about Prince George's first birthday party.

The location. Instead of renting an indoor trampoline park, William and Kate had their son's birthday at home at Kensington Palace in London. It was a private affair, but hopefully the Duke and Duchess will be kind enough to release a few photos of the adorable day. Seeing Prince George dive head-first into a cake? Priceless.

The guest list. All the usual suspects were in attendance for the future king's soiree, which started at 3 in the afternoon. Kate's mom, Carole Middleton, was among the first to arrive; unsurprisingly, Queen Elizabeth, who only stayed for 50 minutes, was among the last (the lady's got stuff to do!). Other guests included Kate's father and siblings, Michael, Pippa, and James; Prince Harry; George's godparents, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Emilia Jardine Paterson, and Zara Phillips; and George's former nanny, Jessie Webb.

The theme. Kate apparently opted for a Peter Rabbit-themed party for her little boy. The decorations, naturally, were supplied by her parents, who run a party-planning business.

The gifts. No word on what exactly Prince George was given for his birthday, but according to onlookers, stacks of wrapped gifts could be spotted through the windows of all the cars that arrived. Buying a gift for the future King of England? No pressure there!

Hope it was a great day, and happy birthday, little George!
