Jason Biggs' Insensitive Joke About Malaysia Airlines Crossed the Line

Jason BiggsJason Biggs made a name for himself by shoving his junk into an apple pie, and the vulgarity has only continued from there. He often steps so far over the line of propriety that the line becomes a little speck on the horizon and we all have to pick our jaws up off the ground, collectively roll our eyes, and move on. This is one of those times.

The raunchy actor was under fire Thursday for his controversial tweets about the Malaysian Airlines airplane that was reportedly shot out of the sky near the Ukraine earlier in the day. The Orange Is the New Black star tweeted, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?"

Oh no he didn't! Don't forget that Malaysian Airlines still hasn't found Flight MH370, which disappeared in March.

To his credit, the 36-year-old actor immediately followed it up with, "In all seriousness, tho- HOW DO YOU MISTAKENLY SHOOT DOWN A COMMERCIAL PLANE?! Ugh. It's saddest for the victims and their families, obviously. But Malaysia Airlines is apparently a GREAT airline. Gonna be tough to recover." But the damage was already done and backlash was swift.

At first Biggs defended himself and tweeted back to those criticizing him, "Hey all you 'too soon' assholes- it's a fucking joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all. The idea that I wouldn't have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right? Truly- you losers are literally trying to find shit to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere."

But by the end of the night, he seemed to have realized he had gone too far -- even for him. These were his last tweets of the evening.

Wow. Biggs isn't usually one to back down from defending his warped and sometimes insulting sense of humor. Maybe it's symbolic for how big a deal this is that even he is backing away from making a joke about it.

Do you think Jason Biggs' joke about the downed plane was offensive?
