Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield Brilliantly School the Paparazzi

Emma Stone and Andrew GarlfieldEmma Stone and Andrew Garfield are one of the most all around awesome Hollywood couples. It’s not enough that they’re both adorable and talented together, but recently they managed to turn their celebrity spotlight on something much more important than their latest side-boob angle.

Unlike many other celebrities who are used to growling and snarling or desperately posing each time they see the paparazzi flashing their light bulbs, Stone and Garfield recently took their photo op and turned it into a promotable moment for charities in need. You hear that, Charlize Theron?

While in New York City on Tuesday morning, the Spider-Man stars held up cards with messages for the paps that were waiting for them outside of their restaurant:

Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let’s try this again. We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do.

Stone’s card pointed to Garfield’s, which listed four charities, including the controversial Autism Speaks, as well as Youth Mentoring ConnectionGilda’s Club, which supports people living with cancer, and Worldwide Orphans Foundation. He ended it with a punch:

Here's to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!

How awesome is that? The couple did the same thing back in 2012, when they held up signs promoting kids’ charities when the paparazzi caught them strolling through the streets of New York City. Encore!

Regardless of whether or not people agree with Stone and Garfield’s choice of charities, you have to give them credit for being young celebrities that are not only self-aware and mindful, but putting their celebrity spotlight to good use, too. Unlike others, they’re not parading around town braless or promoting trendy bottles of water on the street. I mean, could you imagine if Kim Kardashian wore a sign promoting her favorite charity while being papped shirtless? The Internet would explode.

Do you think more celebrities should use their fame in helpful ways like this?
