Gavin Rossdale Reveals Why His Marriage With Gwen Stefani Works

Gwen Stefani, Gavin RossdaleGwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have been married for 12 years, which in celebrity land is basically forever. Seriously, give them some dentures, a porch swing, and some sweet tea, and pull up a chair to hear stories about the good ol' times, because these two are practically ancient.

Or you know, they're working parents to three young kids, which is also impressive they're still happily married after all these years. Notice I said happily. Sure, lots of people choose to stay in miserable marriages for whatever reason, but Gwen and Gavin seem like they genuinely like being married to each other, and recently the Bush frontman revealed why they work well as a couple.

Last Friday, the couple was attending the 24 Hour Plays event sponsored by Montblanc, when they were asked how they manage their hectic schedules to find time for each other. "We don't, it's perfect," Rossdale joked. "That's why we've been together for so long."

Heh. That's a knee-slapper, Gavin!

Anyway, I doubt that the reason they're still happily together is because they never see each other. Physical distance does not equal emotional distance, and emotionally distant spouses aren't able to just pick up where they left off when they find time for each other.

These two seem to have the sparks -- and there's no faking that. Last year Gavin gushed about his gorgeous gal, saying, "To be with one person for a very long time actually gets more interesting ... I'm into that. She's a great girl. I'm lucky."

And Gwen is lucky to have a guy who grows with her, thinks she's interesting, and doesn't take invasive questions about the state of his marriage too seriously. I think that's probably what makes their relationship work -- no matter what happens, they feel lucky to have each other.

Do you think Gwen and Gavin are totally swoon-worthy?
