Kate Middleton's Future Plans for Prince George Come as a Surprise

Kate Middleton Prince George

We all have hopes for our children as far as what they will accomplish in their lives, but can you honestly imagine how tough it must be for Prince William and Kate Middleton, who know that their little Prince George will one day grow up to be King?

I mean, his future is already predetermined, so they have to get a little more creative when it comes to having aspirations of success for him. And while attending the America's Cup event earlier this week, the Duchess of Cambridge gave some insight into her big plans for Georgie-Porgie.

Apparently Kate wants Prince George to learn to sail, when he's around the age of 7 or 8. She told British sailing hero Sir Ben Ainslie that she'd like to get him started in a little boat called an Optimist dinghy.

Aww. Can't you just picture George cruising around in a pint-sized sailboat with his famous mum and dad proudly watching on? And you know he'll pick it right up like a champ. Heck, he's only 10 months old, and Kate admits he's already walking, so it's clear he's quite the quick learner.

But let's get back to Kate and how endearing it is that she still wants her son to lead a well-balanced life even though she knows he'll never have to question what he wants to be when he grows up. She could easily sit back and let him move through his childhood without a care in the world. It speaks volumes about her values that she wants George to be challenged and try new things.

And it also doesn't hurt that she wants to make sure he maintains a certain level of athletic ability. Both she and Wills lead active lives; it makes sense for her to want George to follow in their footsteps.

Kate may be new to this mom thing, but hopefully she realizes she's doing one heck of a job so far!

What are your dreams for your kids?
