'Game of Thrones' Red Viper & The Mountain Give Fans What They Need After Brutal Duel (PHOTO)

When there is a fight as epic as the one we saw on episode 8 of Game of Thrones, "The Mountain and the Viper," sometimes it can be very, very difficult to separate fiction from reality. Fans were SO invested in the fight and SO VERY SHOCKED by the brutal, bloody, still-can't-sleep-at-night outcome.

There are likely some SPOILERS AHEAD if you haven't checked out the episode.

Pedro Pascal (Prince Oberyn Martell, AKA the Red Viper) and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor Clegane, AKA The Mountain) have to despise each other in real life, right? Because they have no actual lives outside of the roles they play on Game of Thrones, right? Because there's just no way the Mountain could do what he did without there being any insane ill will between the two, right? No one can be that good at acting, right? Game of Thrones is real ... right?

Wrong. Check out the latest evidence.

Isn't this kind of the greatest photo ever? It's a nice, light reminder after a harrowing Sunday night that these guys are real people, and that Game of Thrones is their job, and that they actually might get along in real life. Pascal captioned it: "Buds."

Yes. This is the greatest photo ever.

It's also good to know that, well, Pedro is still alive and that his teeth and eyes and brains really weren't plastered all over the arena from the outcome of that amazing, violent duel. And from all the interviews I've read with Pascal (like here and here), he seems like a really funny, awesome dude. Hope this means great things for his career in the future, but otherwise -- fans are going to miss the hell out of him. He was only introduced on episode 1 of season 4, and we all fell in love with his horny ways, his dreamy accent, his monologues with Tyrion, and his quest to avenge his sister and her children. Seriously, this still goes to show that HBO can do no casting wrong.

And it's nice to know that even though the Mountain literally crushed the Viper's skull in in one of the most heartbreaking deaths on Game of Thrones, the guys who play them can still goof around and have fun and pose shirtless and wear sunglasses. This is exactly what we needed to see after watching that episode!

Are you so invested in Game of Thrones that you tend to forget about the actors behind the characters they play?
