Alec Baldwin Arrested for Riding a Bike (But Mostly for Being Alec Baldwin)

Alec BaldwinWhat's in your wallet? If you're Alec Baldwin on Tuesday May 13, and you're out riding your bike in New York City, the answer is obviously not identification. You'd think the former Capital One spokesman would know better, but alas ... no.

The hot-headed actor was arrested and handcuffed by police after failing to produce ID after being stopped for riding a bicycle the wrong way. In Touch broke the story, along with pics that of course immediately went viral, because hi, Alec Baldwin just got arrested for the very serious crime of riding a bike or being Alec Baldwin.

This stuff is just too good to make up.

Anyway, it seems as though the 30 Rock star had an issue being asked for ID. According to a source in the NYPD, he was given two summonses, but was only arrested after "Alec Baldwin'ing" the cops. (I made that term up. It would've been awesome if the source actually used it though.)

"He was stopped by officers for riding the wrong way on a street. When the officers asked for ID, he got belligerent because he had none on him," the source said. "The officers placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct."

Ever one to take responsibility for his actions, Baldwin took to Twitter after he was released to clear things up. After naming the arresting officer and badge number, he said, "[He] arrested me and handcuffed me for going the wrong way on Fifth Ave." He continued in typical ranty fashion:

Oh Alec, never stop being you! Yeah, the cops probably gave you an extra hard time because you're known for antics like these. Yeah, their time probably could've been better spent elsewhere. But so long as you keep creating opportunities to get yourself all worked up, people are going to try to work you up. Maybe if you really do hate the media, you should stop playing to it.

Do you think the cops should've just let him go with a warning?
