Kim Kardashian & Kanye West's Wedding Plans Hit a Major Bump in the Road

Kim Kardashian and Kanye WestThey only have a little over a month to go before getting hitched, but unfortunately, it seems as though there is a huge problem with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding. It could spell major trouble if they don't figure out a way around it.

RadarOnline has learned that according to French law, when a couple wants to get married, one of them is required to have lived in France for a minimum of 40 days -- otherwise the marriage ain't happening.

And considering today is April 8, that gives Kimye about a week to establish some sort of residency over there. So we shouldn't be surprised if one or both of them winds up holed up in his Paris apartment until the big day.

Kanye recently announced that he'd be postponing his Australian Yeezus tour until the fall, which makes total sense if he and Kim just found out about this French residency thing.

Oh, and there's another little tidbit they're going to have to build into their nuptials too. In France, there have to be two wedding ceremonies, a civil and a religious.

According to the French Embassy, "The religious ceremony has to be performed after the civil ceremony (never before). The minister, priest, or rabbi will require a certificate of civil marriage before any religious ceremony takes place."

Huh. I wonder if Kim and Kanye are aware of that one? Let's hope so. And for their sake, let's hope they get this residency bit figured out so they don't have to tie the knot all over again when they get back to the states. I mean, not that it's really that big of a deal or anything if they have to go to extra lengths to make things legal, but still -- most brides like to actually BE married after getting married, ya know?

Man. It's a good thing they learned this information now instead of like a week before the wedding or something. The last thing Kim and Kanye need is for everything to totally fall apart days before it happens.

Did you have any weird marriage requirements surrounding your wedding?
