Kate Middleton Criticized for Making Another 'Reckless' Parenting Decision

Prince GeorgeGah. Sometimes as parents, we just can't win no matter what we do. And I'm sure that's exactly how Kate Middleton and Prince William are feeling right about now as they embark on the first part of their Royal Tour in New Zealand.

Get this one -- they're being called irresponsible because Prince George's car seat in the royal limo is forward-facing. Supposedly the Duke and Duchess told the technician who installed it in the car to put it in that way.

And I know what you're thinking -- aren't babies supposed to be in rear-facing seats until they're at least over a year old?

Well, it's suggested, but it's not a legal requirement in New Zealand.

And here's where the problem comes in. Plunket, the group who installed the seat Prince George will be using Down Under, is apparently pretty passionate about babies remaining in rear-facing seats until the age of 2. So now they're getting all sorts of protests from New Zealanders for going against the guidelines they recommend simply to appease Kate and Wills' wishes.

But honestly, should we really be all that surprised that people are questioning whether or not Kate and Prince William are making a proper parenting decision? From outrage over their vacation in the Maldives without the baby to the fact that they also received harsh criticism over Prince George not being strapped into his car seat correctly leaving the hospital post-birth -- Kate and Wills apparently can't do anything right in the eyes of perfect mom and dads.

Ugh. I just can't believe that people actually think they would do anything to put their son in harm's way! And another thing -- odds are good that they'll have all sorts of security detail around the royal limo anyway, so it's not like they'll be cruising around with a chauffeur who zig-zags in and out of traffic like a New York City cab driver.

Sheesh. Why can't people just quit worrying about how Will and Kate parent their kid and focus on their own instead?!?

(I shudder to think about the outcry there's going to be if that baby is photographed with a bottle sometime in the next couple of weeks.)

Do you think Kate and Prince William are being irresponsible?
