Gwyneth Paltrow Breaks Silence About Divorce But Talks Chicken First

gwyneth paltrowWe're all talking about Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's divorce, but Gwyneth is ready to talk about chicken. Specifically making chicken. She has a website to run -- Goop isn't going to journal itself, and being a working mother is hard enough. (No disrespect to the stay-at-home moms because I believe we are all working mothers even if we don't get some sort of paycheck for our "jobs.")

Gwynnie took to Goop today to talk about "our" moms and being frugal with tea bags and leftovers and was preparing to share three delicious chicken recipes, but she also gave us a P.S. about that little conscious uncoupling bombshell.

From Goop:

One Bird, Three Meals

Our moms were raised by depression-era ladies who used a single tea bag for two cups of tea and never met a leftover they didn’t eat. This issue of three delicious chicken recipes is in honor of our grandmothers, who taught us the good old-fashioned art of not wasting a scrap.

Love, gp

P.S. CM and I in deep gratitude for the support of so many. ♥

Decoding this .... Because I look for the other meaning in everything. The use of the word "bird" -- like give 'em the bird? Eff you, haters?! I won't get into what "leftover" could mean. Yikes. But then she says "the support of so many." She didn't say "everyone" because she knows some people just aren't supportive. Which is lame, but such is the way.

Whatever Gwyneth means (or doesn't mean), I think it was smart of her to address the "conscious uncoupling" in some way. Even if it is on her chicken three different ways recipes post. If she didn't everyone (or maybe "so many") would make note of her NOT mentioning it and wonder how she can be so brazen and just talk about how to make a jerk sauce. (Whoa. JERK? What could that mean?)

I also appreciate how she writes that CM has the same deep gratitude, too. They really are consciously uncoupling. Doing this together -- figuring out how to make this divorce thing an okay experience. And good for them. I wish them the best. Because it isn't easy.

What do you think of Gwyneth's first time addressing the uncoupling on her chicken recipe post?
