Selena Gomez's Secret Rehab Stint May Have Been All Because of Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez RehabChalk this up to the most unexpected thing I've heard all day: Apparently Selena Gomez checked into rehab last month. Yup, that former Disney star turned pop star commonly smiling with bestie Taylor Swift in Instagram photos went to The Meadows in Arizona for two weeks of treatment. Sources tell TMZ that Gomez went for a combination of problems including prescription Ambien, pot, and alcohol use. Wait ... WHAT?! But it gets worse: Selena's decision to go to rehab was also "largely based on" Justin Bieber.

Gomez's rehab stint comes on the heels of the singer cancelling 13 dates on her "Stars Dance Tour," telling fans that she needed to "spend some time on myself in order to be the person I can be."

Wow. Poor Selena. And I hate to place the blame here, but well, now you've really made me mad, Biebs.

Apparently the program Gomez entered at The Meadows, called DAWN, is specifically designed for people between ages 18 and 26 and specializes in relapse prevention, mental health, family dynamics, trauma, and substance abuse.

At this time neither Gomez nor anyone from her camp has come forth that the singer's stint in rehab was because of substance abuse. A source close to the 21-year-old tells ET Online that substance abuse was NOT the reason she sought help, but rather because she was "looking to better herself." Yeah, who wants to put money down that ET Online's "source" was Taylor Swift, eh?

Regardless, it can't be easy watching the man you were so head over heels in love with (and potentially still are) falling into this downward spiral and growing into this cocky, pompous asshole. One second, Bieber is getting raunchy with strippers. The next, he refuses to stop smoking marijuana on his private jet, and the smoke gets so bad that the pilots need to put on oxygen masks so they didn't get high themselves.

At this time, Selena is reportedly not in therapy and not getting outpatient help. Something tells me maybe both of those things wouldn't be such a bad idea. It's never wrong to seek help. I just pray she gets all the help she needs.

Are you surprised to hear that Selena spent time in rehab? Have you ever been in a toxic relationship that affected you in a dramatic way like this?
