‘Game of Thrones’ Season 4 Teaser Reveals Unexpected Surprise on the Way (VIDEO)

game of thrones season 4Even though Game of Thrones season 4 is still months and months away, that's not about to stop HBO from having us geek out over every single video, teaser trailer, photo, two-word sentence, whatever it is that they deign to share with us. And it's kind of amazing how 30 seconds of footage that we've mostly seen already can still get us excited for the best damn series on television.

Another quick video, called "Game of Thrones Season 4: Fire and Ice 'A Foreshadowing' -- Behind the Scenes Show Promo," has been unleashed upon the world. We get a quick peek at some show footage as well as actor interviews, and it goes by so fast, you can't help but replay it again and again. And again.

And the biggest news to come out of this new teaser? On Sunday, February 9 at 8:45 p.m., there will be a 15-minute preview of season 4!!

Fifteen!!! Minutes!!! Truly, wonderfully amazing. What better way to get through this chaotic hell pit that has been this winter. Ned Stark is probably laughing heartily at us somewhere.

You can check out the longer preview before the debut of a new episode of True Detective, which I hear from my minions is also pretty fantastic.

Anyway, for now, here is the (seemingly quite short by comparison) latest teaser HBO has released:

It sucks that it looks like Tyrion Lannister is going to be very humiliated, especially at the hands of petulant King Joffrey, but it's great to see that hopefully the Starks will be back and better than ever after a tragic season 3. Oh, the Red Wedding.

Let's not go there.

From this quick preview, it also looks like we'll probably be getting a lot of sex and a lot of violence -- well, isn't that why you're tuning in to this show in the first place? Kidding. Jaime and Cersei reunited? (Blerg.) Jon Snow kicking ass? (Yes please.) Daenerys being Daenerys? (Always.) The Mountain taking on the Red Viper? (OMG I can't handle it.)

Not nearly enough to tide us over, but let's hope the 15-minute sneak peek will more than make up for it.

What are you most looking forward to seeing on season 4 of Game of Thrones?
