Roseanne Barr Goes On Epic Twitter Tirade, Quits TV Forever (Yeah, Right)

Roseanne BarrIt's been a while since Roseanne Barr was at the forefront of entertainment news, but isn't that what's great about Twitter? With just a swipe of your finger, you can catch up on your friends' activities, thoughts from total strangers, breaking global events, television spoilers, and unhinged multi-paragraph rants from 61-year-old comics you haven't given much thought to since the early 90's.

Roseanne went on quite the Twitter tirade over the weekend, and while it's hard to sum up her various expletive-laden points in one sentence, I think it's safe to say she's not entirely happy with her most recent attempt at a TV comeback -- and she's blaming everyone from showrunners to bullies to "women in hollywood (who) cannot fall to their knees to suck dick fast enough."

Yeah. If there was such a thing as a competition for greatest celebrity Twitter freakout, I think Roseanne would be edging out Sinead O'Connor AND Courtney Love for this one.

I've always kind of liked Roseanne Barr for being the brash, outspoken weirdo in the midst of PR-polished Hollywood personalities, but I'm guessing she's not been the easiest person to work with over the years. What's that saying -- you don't shit where you eat? Well, that's pretty much exactly what she did over the weekend.

Earlier this year it was announced that Barr would develop and star in a new NBC sitcom co-written with Nurse Jackie showrunner Linda Wallem, and here's what Barr had to say about that project and TV in general:

She went on for several more tweets:

actually, for many years-from my first reality show to my second and two failed development deals. Don't call me-I won't call you. I'm gone. here's my advice: if u know something is wrong frm the start, don't try2 make it work-don't excuse ppl's insensitivity. They never improve. development process went like this: show runner disappeared for 7 weeks-never returned any calls from me-I was told she 'goes in2 a cave' I was also told that this was 'her process'-and that the result would be fantastic. I asked why I had been removed totally from the process. They had less than no interest in including me in the development of a show that was built on 'my brand'. It was horrible, but I kept on bc I had 2 C it thru-out of a bizarre interest in the insane outcome. The script didn't resonate with me-I tried 2 b kind about it. There were hardly any jokes in the script, and I didn't connect with the characters at all. My family told me 2 quit-I kept on trying.

Oh, but she wasn't done there:

Well, I guess we know how she really feels. At some point Barr must have had a change of heart about some of the things she shared, because she's since deleted the tweets slamming her Roseanne showrunner Matt Williams and her bizarre declaration that Anderson Cooper was a "toad."

As for what drove her rant in the first place ...

Barr wrapped things up today by hinting that she plans to develop an Internet TV sitcom featuring "nudity, obscene language, violence politically incorrect analysis & channelling The Immutable Goddess" -- so, uhhhh, let's all just look forward to that, shall we? I'm sure it will be RIVETING.

What do you think about Roseanne's Twitter vent-a-thon?
